Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent congratulatory messages to U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President Jay D. Pence on the occasion of the national holiday — Independence Day.
In his message to President Trump, Pashinyan emphasized Washington's role in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
The congratulatory message states: “The Republic of Armenia and the United States of America are united not only by common interests but also by a long-standing friendship aimed at strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity. In this context, I find it appropriate to highlight your steadfast leadership's importance in establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
Pashinyan noted that TRIPP will be an important guarantee of peace and “will pave the way for a more peaceful, interconnected, and prosperous region.”
“I am confident that the consistent implementation of our joint agenda will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations for the benefit of our two peoples,” the government statement said.
In his message to Vice President Pence, Pashinyan mentioned the Vice President's visit to Armenia in February: “In addition to boosting partnership between Armenia and the U.S. in economic, energy, defense, and other areas, your visit became a testament to high-level political dialogue and mutual trust between Armenia and the United States, creating new opportunities for expanding our ties in various fields,” the Prime Minister's congratulatory message stated.
