YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. The purpose of renaming Armenia's foreign affairs ministry is to make the economic component and economic function more tangible in the country's international relations.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Pashinyan and President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participants of the annual working meeting of the heads of the Republic's diplomatic missions abroad.
During his speech, the Prime Minister focused on the decision to change the name of the foreign affairs ministry, which will be renamed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
According to Pashinyan, such a practice exists in a number of countries around the world.
"The main goal is to make the economic component and economic function also tangible in international relations," the Prime Minister noted.
Pashinyan also touched upon the balanced and balancing foreign policy pursued by the Armenian government, its fundamental directions, steps taken to diversify the economy, the country's priorities in international relations, and upcoming programs.
After the Prime Minister's speech, a discussion of current issues on the foreign policy agenda took place.
The meeting also involved representatives of Armenia's legislative and executive authorities.
