YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. Armenia aims to return $2 billion of illegally acquired property to the state by 2031, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced:
"The government program for 2026-2031 sets the task of returning illegally acquired property to the state worth up to $2 billion by 2031," Pashinyan noted during a session of the National Assembly of Armenia:
According to him, processes related to ESA, Ararat Cement, and the Tsakhkadzor cable car provide grounds to believe that this task will be accomplished, and the volume of returned property may be even greater:
Pashinyan stated that the system for returning illegally acquired property to the state is already fully operational:
"Real estate and cash worth approximately 304.1 billion drams have been returned to the state. Thousands of hectares of land that were illegally privatized de jure or de facto have been returned to communities and the government, including as a result of negotiations," Pashinyan said:
The Prime Minister reported that the revenues of the state budget of Armenia for 2025 will more than double the figure for 2017. In addition to economic growth, a significant role in increasing revenues was played by the reduction of the shadow economy:
