New regulation abolishing maximum age limit for certain positions comes into effect

Abolition of the 65-year age limit in the public service sector

As of today, a new regulation abolishing the maximum age limit of 65 years for holding certain positions comes into effect. This was announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.

Specifically, the changes apply to civil, customs, tax, and municipal service positions, positions within the National Assembly's staff, heads of administrative offices, heads of executive bodies of state non-commercial organizations, directors of vocational educational institutions, as well as the head of the authorized body for personal data protection.

Under the new regulation, the possibility of continuing work in the aforementioned positions will no longer depend on reaching a certain age.

At the same time, legal grounds will be established in the laws on public service, municipal service, state non-commercial organizations, and vocational education and training, allowing public, municipal, and civil servants, as well as heads of executive bodies of state organizations, to become foster parents and receive remuneration for caring for children.
