The 'Strong Armenia' faction will present a project on drug imports that will contribute to the reduction of drug prices. In Armenia, 3,900 drugs are registered, of which around 2,000 can be found in pharmacies. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the 'Strong Armenia' faction, in the National Assembly, adding that in European countries, up to 25,000 drugs are registered.
"We can take the experience of Germany, France, and the UK, select not too obscure origin drugs based on the principle of recognizability, recognize and register these drugs, and establish a notification system. This will allow us to avoid many bureaucratic risks in Armenia. In other words, if you want to import a drug, just submit a notification and start working. This will naturally lead to a reduction in drug prices, which our faction and our alliance spoke about during the pre-election period," said Abrahamyan.
He addressed Lusine Badalyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, whose candidacy has been put forward for the position of chair of the NA Standing Committee on Health: "What is preventing us from implementing this in the near future?" L. Badalyan said that it is a delicate and sensitive issue and suggested presenting a legislative initiative to discuss the positive and problematic aspects. Tigran Abrahamyan stated that the faction will definitely come up with such a project.
