When Russian attacks effectively blocked Ukraine's Black Sea ports, which accounted for 90% of the country's grain exports, some shipments were redirected to the Danube River ports, which have much smaller capacities. The situation is further complicated by frequent air alarms that halt all port operations.
Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain-exporting countries, and disruptions in the export process could lead to rising global prices.
