Ukraine continues to strike Russian refineries, exacerbating the fuel crisis in Russia. The latest attack occurred on Monday night when Ukrainian forces hit the 180,000-barrel-per-day Afipsky refinery in the Krasnodar region.
A fire broke out at the refinery as a result of the strike, damaging at least 10 homes, and drone debris killed two people at the local railway station.
Russia has been suffering from a gasoline and diesel crunch for several months as Ukraine has intensified its strikes on Russian refineries. Russian authorities are trying to alleviate the situation, but the fuel shortage continues to deepen.
