Nvidia's shares rise by over 5% after earnings report

Nvidia's strong second-quarter report boosts share value

Nvidia's shares rose by over 5% after the close of the main trading session, following a strong earnings report for the second quarter.

The company's shares increased by 5.4% to $220.99, while the main trading session on Wednesday ended with a decline of 1.59% at $209.66.

In the recently concluded second quarter, Nvidia's revenue reached $96.2 billion, up 18% from the previous quarter and 106% year-over-year. According to the Wall Street Journal, this is a record figure.

Quarterly net profit increased 2.3 times year-over-year, reaching $59.688 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings per share more than doubled, rising from $1.01 to $2.22.

In the first six months of the financial year, Nvidia's net profit totaled $118.01 billion compared to $45.2 billion last year, while revenue nearly doubled to $177.84 billion.

For the third quarter of the 2027 financial year, Nvidia expects revenue of about $108 billion with a ±2% variance. The company noted that the forecast does not include potential revenues from supplying computing solutions for data centers in China.
