During the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, it was revealed that on May 30, 2026, a citizen of the Netherlands, of Armenian descent S.N., along with a citizen of Armenia M.N., acquired a large sum of money in Germany and attempted to illegally import 397 million 156 thousand 944 drams into the Republic of Armenia, equivalent to 956 thousand 400 euros, without customs declaration:
During a customs inspection, 956 thousand 400 euros in cash were found hidden in various envelopes in their luggage. A criminal case was initiated against S.N. and M.N., with one of them being arrested.
