President Vahagn Khachatryan Visits the State Revenue Committee

The meeting discussed the priorities of tax policy

President Vahagn Khachatryan visited the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia today, August 25. This was reported by the president's office.

“The chairman of the SRC, Edward Hakobyan, presented to the president the current activities of the Committee, the reforms implemented in recent years, the main directions of strategic planning, and upcoming developments.

During the meeting, the priorities of the tax policy outlined in the government program and the main approaches to their implementation were also discussed.

Issues related to increasing the efficiency of tax administration, ensuring state revenues, strengthening tax discipline, and developing cooperation between the state and business entities were discussed.

President Vahagn Khachatryan emphasized that the effectiveness of the tax system should be assessed not only by the revenues collected but also from the perspective of the environment created for economic development. In this context, the continuous development of partnership relations between the State Revenue Committee and business was highlighted.

It was noted that the activities of the SRC should not be based on punishing business entities or recording violations and imposing fines, but rather on supporting legally operating businesses to make them more protected and invulnerable in their relations with the state, ensuring proper fulfillment of tax obligations, and creating the necessary conditions for the unhindered development of business.

The importance of a predictable and fair tax environment was also emphasized, which simultaneously ensures stable growth of state revenues and stimulates economic activity.

The president highlighted the importance of continuous reforms of the SRC, viewing them in the context of increasing the efficiency of public administration and the overall process of economic development of the country,” the statement said.
