Armenia's Ministry of Internal Affairs Proposes Making Training a Mandatory Step for Obtaining Driver's Licenses

Training will become the first mandatory step for obtaining a driver's license

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has proposed a legislative package that would make training a mandatory step in obtaining a driver's license. According to the ministry's press service, this proposal aims to improve driving skills and foster a culture of road safety.

"Training will become the first mandatory step. Thus, participation in the theoretical exam for obtaining a driver's license will only be possible after completing the relevant training. To ensure the quality standards of training, only organizations and individual entrepreneurs that meet established requirements and have the appropriate license will be allowed to teach future drivers," the ministry stated.

The proposed legislative package also includes a qualification system for those conducting driving instruction, aimed at ensuring their professional training and continuous improvement of the quality of instruction. Additionally, the ministry discussed the initiative to implement a rating system, under which organizations and individual entrepreneurs engaged in driving instruction will be evaluated. This, according to the source, will allow citizens to make a more informed choice and provide incentives for training providers to continuously enhance the quality of their services.

"Thus, in the process of obtaining a driver's license, not only the exam but also quality training becomes crucial, allowing for the development of knowledge and skills for safe driving, so that no lives are lost on the roads," the ministry concluded.
