The anti-corruption court granted the lawsuit of the Syunik region prosecutor's office against the former head of the Tatev community, Murad Simonyan, on July 30, 2026:
The prosecutor's office reports that after the decision enters into legal force, 4 million 454 thousand drams will be recovered from Murad Simonyan as compensation for the damage caused to the state, and the interest on the amount of 4 million 454 thousand drams will also be recovered.
The Syunik region prosecutor's office, within the framework of its authority to protect state (municipal) interests, examined the evidence obtained during the criminal proceedings, according to which the former head of the Tatev community, Murad Simonyan, provided an excavator, which is municipal property, to a private company in 2018-2020 and embezzled 4 million 454 thousand drams from the 13 million 600 thousand drams obtained from its operation. On March 31, 2026, a lawsuit was filed in the anti-corruption court demanding the recovery of the amount of damage caused to the Tatev community from Murad Simonyan.
