YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Construction work under the TRIPP project is likely to begin in spring 2027, said Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade:
“When we talk about TRIPP, we all subconsciously imagine a railway. However, TRIPP is a whole complex of infrastructures,” Mirzoyan noted in an interview with OTA:
He reported that negotiations on two documents related to the TRIPP project are nearing completion:
“They will be finalized soon. This includes the charter of the TRIPP Development Company, shareholder agreements, and so on. Once all this is completed, we can say that the documentation phase is finished,” Mirzoyan said:
According to him, necessary professional studies are being conducted on-site: one phase has already been completed, and the second is in progress:
“All work is proceeding at an accelerated pace. This is driven by our interests as well as those of the USA, Azerbaijan, and other interested countries, our neighbors, in a word—from Lisbon to Beijing,” Mirzoyan noted:
About the TRIPP project
The project “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) aims to create unhindered multimodal transit infrastructure on the territory of Armenia while maintaining the full sovereignty of the republic over the project's infrastructure on its territory:
In particular, the project is expected to ensure transportation links between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as expand regional routes connecting Central Asia and the Caspian region with Europe:
Armenia and the USA signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation regarding TRIPP in June 2026; a joint Armenian-American company, TRIPP Development Company, was established for the implementation of the project:
TRIPP is seen as part of a broader Trans-Caspian trade route. To stimulate private investments along this route, the USA launched the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund, with commitments amounting to $402 million:
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that TRIPP is primarily an investment project, which is expected to bring billions of dollars in new investments to Armenia:
