The Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Arpine Sargsyan, announced that all units of the Migration and Civil Service will be digitized by the end of the year. This was stated during a working meeting with the acting head of the Migration and Citizenship Service, Nelly Davtyan, and representatives of the service:
During the meeting, a preliminary version of the online platform designed for accepting applications for residence permits and digitizing their processing was presented. The implementation of the new platform is due to amendments to the Law on Foreigners, according to which, starting from November 1, services provided within the framework of residence permit procedures in the Republic of Armenia will be digitized:
Sargsyan emphasized that digitization should not only be carried out at a technical level but should also be accompanied by a review of the service delivery process to maximize simplification and citizen orientation.
