During a meeting between Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbaev and US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur, the two sides discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The US has expressed its willingness to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan, particularly focusing on President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's initiative to establish an International Water Organization as a specialized agency of the UN.
The meeting also covered preparations for the G20 summit scheduled to take place in Miami at the end of 2026, which Tokayev plans to attend at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
