Funds collected in September through “The Power of One Dram” initiative will be used to organize the “Climate Change and Women” Awards. The program is designed to recognize and raise the visibility of women’s leadership and contribution to tackling climate change and protecting biodiversity.
The awards ceremony is being held within the framework of COP17 in cooperation with the “Women in Climate and Energy” (WiCE) NGO, the OxYGen Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the CBD Women’s Caucus, and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.
Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of the Communication and Sustainable Development Department at Idram and IDBank, said the initiative is important both for its current impact and long-term potential. She noted that environmental protection and sustainable development are among the core directions of “The Power of One Dram,” making the program fully aligned with its values. According to Vardevanyan, Idram and IDBank continue to back projects that not only address urgent issues but also seek practical solutions and a more sustainable future.
Nune Sakanyan, Founder and Director of the “Women in Climate and Energy” NGO, said the initiative provides an important platform for making women’s work more visible and highlighting their role. She added that support from “The Power of One Dram” is crucial for delivering the COP17 special edition of the “Climate Change and Women” Awards, recognizing the value of women’s leadership, and encouraging effective environmental solutions.
The article also notes that the August beneficiary of “The Power of One Dram” was the “Orran” Charitable Non-Governmental Organization. With AMD 4,719,020 accumulated through the initiative, the children supported by the organization began the academic year fully prepared, with the necessary school clothing and stationery.
The initiative continues to support social, community, and educational projects. Users can take part by making payments through the Idram&IDBank app, the IDBanking.am and banking.idram.am online platforms, or Idram and IDBank payment terminals. For every payment, the companies donate one Armenian dram to support important projects.
