Meta has launched Muse for Small Business, a workplace version of its popular AI agent aimed at smaller companies. The new service connects with Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, Canva and Salesforce's Slack, and can also link to Meta ad accounts and professional Instagram and Facebook profiles.
The company did not disclose pricing details. Meta only pointed to the existing Muse app model, which is free with usage limits and available on a subscription basis for broader access.
The announcement follows Meta's separate move on Monday to roll out a new enterprise platform. The company hired MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to lead that effort. The platform is set to include a Muse agent, a business agent and a coding tool.
Meta shares are up 25% this month, despite giving back some gains over the past two trading sessions. Investor momentum accelerated after Muse launched on Sept. 8 and climbed to the top of Apple's App Store ahead of ChatGPT. Evercore analyst Mark Mahaney told CNBC he expects Muse to reach 100 million users within six to 12 months.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg is trying to turn AI into a new business growth engine as Meta looks beyond its heavy reliance on digital advertising. The effort is being led by Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang, whose group began releasing new models under the Muse Spark family in April. At Meta Connect last week, Zuckerberg called Muse the “centerpiece” of his AI strategy.
Meta's latest move comes as OpenAI holds its developer day, underscoring Meta's intent to compete more aggressively with OpenAI and Anthropic in enterprise AI. Meta says 200 million small businesses are already present on Facebook, making that audience a natural target for the new product.
