The “Power of One Dram” initiative has become the general partner of the “Climate Change and Women” award. Funds collected through the initiative in September will be allocated to the special program being held within COP17.
The initiative aims to recognize, value and make more visible women’s leadership and contribution to combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. The award is being organized in partnership with the NGO “Women in Climate and Energy” (WiCE), the “OxsEgen” foundation, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the CBD Women’s Caucus, and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia.
The report says that in August the beneficiary of the “Power of One Dram” initiative was the “Orran” charitable public organization. Thanks to the 4,719,020 drams raised, children supported by the organization began the school year fully prepared, with all necessary school clothing and stationery.
Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Idram and IDBank, said environmental protection and sustainable development are among the key priorities of the “Power of One Dram” initiative. In her words, the project fully reflects the values embraced by the initiative, while Idram and IDBank will continue supporting programs that not only highlight urgent issues but also seek practical solutions and a sustainable future.
According to Nune Sakanyan, founder and director of the NGO “Women in Climate and Energy,” the initiative provides an important platform to make women’s work more visible and underscore their role. She said the support of “Power of One Dram” is crucial for implementing the project, recognizing the value of women’s leadership and advancing effective environmental solutions.
The “Power of One Dram” initiative continues to support social, educational and public-interest programs. People can join by making payments through the Idram&IDBank app, the IDBanking.am and banking.idram.am online platforms, as well as Idram and IDBank terminals. For every payment, the companies allocate one dram to important programs.
