During the session of the National Assembly of Armenia on August 18, 2026, the candidacy for the chair of the Commission on Human Rights and Public Affairs is being discussed. The opposition faction "Armenia" has nominated Lilit Galstyan for this position. In her speech, she thanked her political team and faction for nominating her candidacy for the chair of the commission.
Galstyan presented her remarks on issues related to human rights protection. According to her, her goal remains unchanged: to achieve real changes in the country and create a viable state.
Addressing the candidate, Maria Karapetyan, a deputy from the ruling faction "Civil Contract," asked whether Galstyan is ready to discuss the issue of stopping the spread of fabricated, conflict-provoking talks about "Western Azerbaijan" in the Republic of Armenia for six months, for a year.
In response, Lilit Galstyan stated that her speeches, whether in the parliament or on international platforms, cannot be perceived as conflict-provoking.
