Poland and Spain will jointly purchase at least seven Airbus A330 MRTT refueling and transport aircraft under the European Union's SAFE defense funding program.
“The next step is the signing of the final agreement. The most important thing is that Poland will receive 4 aircraft by 2030,” wrote Poland's Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak on X.
Poland has signed a credit agreement under the SAFE initiative — “Security Action for Europe,” receiving €43.7 billion in funding to strengthen its military capabilities.
Amid rising global security risks, the European Union is increasing defense spending and seeking to bolster its military capabilities.
SAFE is a new EU financial program through which member states can obtain loans for investments in the defense sector.
