The State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia (SRC) has received information regarding possible tax evasion at the "Araratcement" plant, with the estimated damage to the state exceeding 400 million drams.
According to the SRC press service, in order to verify the received information, employees of the relevant department conducted external covert observation, during which the routes of trucks leaving the cement plant were established.
It was recorded that in one day, 101 trucks left the plant, and for 35 of these shipments, no tax invoices were issued.
Thus, in one day, cement worth approximately 43.2 million drams was supplied without the appropriate documentation, resulting in a failure to account for about 7.2 million drams in VAT.
The SRC also found that the company purchased diesel fuel worth about 1.2 billion drams using allegedly fictitious tax invoices, causing damage to the state of approximately 442 million drams.
The "Araratcement" plant belongs to Armenian businessman and politician Gagik Tsarukyan.
