Hayk Demoyan, the former director of the Museum of History of Armenia, stated that $500,000 was paid for a piece of wood presented as an example of Armenian cultural heritage. He claims that this amount is excessively high and that there was a criminal agreement with the auction organizers. Demoyan also mentioned that he has filed a report with law enforcement on this issue.
