YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. The National Bank of Kazakhstan has issued the first license for crypto exchange activities. The license was granted to Pax Finance, according to Frank Media.
The license allows the company to officially buy, sell, and store cryptocurrency, as well as to open branches and install crypto ATMs.
The National Bank of Kazakhstan reminded that licensing of digital asset market participants has been in effect in the country since May 1, 2026.
Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for strengthening the fight against illegal capital outflows through cryptocurrencies. According to him, since the beginning of the year, more than 130 illegal crypto exchanges with a total turnover of about $127 million have been liquidated in the country.
Additionally, assets worth $5.3 million have been seized as part of investigations.
