The Armenian government has allocated AMD 1,110,342.4 thousand to regional governors’ offices to meet financial obligations under subsidy-backed community projects. According to the government press service, the funds are intended to cover payments due to construction companies.
At a cabinet meeting, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan said the decision would co-finance 25 projects in 19 communities across Armenia. Of those, 3 are in Aragatsotn, 2 in Ararat, 9 in Armavir, 2 in Gegharkunik, 3 in Lori, 3 in Shirak and 3 in Tavush. He said that with this allocation, the total volume of co-financed subsidy projects from the 2026 state budget will reach AMD 12.011 billion.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the scale of the subsidy programs is expanding and that their impact is already visible in local communities. He added that such investment not only addresses local infrastructure gaps, but also encourages private investment, especially in tourism, including in villages that had lacked roads and other basic infrastructure for decades.
The projects selected for co-financing include the reconstruction and overhaul of kindergartens, construction and rehabilitation of drinking water and irrigation networks, street paving, gasification, courtyard upgrades, retaining wall construction, and the purchase of municipal equipment.
In Aragatsotn, the funding will support the reconstruction of a kindergarten in Katnaghbyur in the Talin community, rehabilitation of the drinking water network in Zarinja, and water supply upgrades in several settlements of the Aparan community. In Ararat, the money will go to street asphalting in Mrgavan, Masis and Nshavan within the Artashat community, as well as in Ranchpar in the Masis community.
In Armavir, the package includes road, gasification, preschool and water supply projects in the Parakar, Araks, Vagharshapat, Metsamor and Armavir communities. In Gegharkunik, funding is earmarked for courtyard paving in Vardenis and for the construction of an irrigation pipeline in Vardadzor in the Martuni community.
In Lori, the approved projects cover road paving and reconstruction in Dsegh and Lermontovo. In Shirak, the plan includes the purchase of 2 multifunctional machines for Gyumri and gasification works in Azatan, Geghanist and Arevshat. In Tavush, the program covers street paving in Koghb and Artsvaberd, as well as the repair and construction of retaining walls in Gosh in the Dilijan community.
Government data show that some of the projects have already been completed, some are in the final stage, and construction progress on others ranges from 40% to 95%. Beneficiaries include hundreds of households and several preschool institutions.
