The Armenian government has approved a proposal to allocate AMD 1.11 billion to co-finance community subsidy programs.
Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Davit Khudatyan said the package covers 25 programs in 19 communities across Armenia. The projects include 3 in Aragatsotn, 2 in Ararat, 9 in Armavir, 2 in Gegharkunik, 3 in Lori, 3 in Shirak and 3 in Tavush.
According to 1lurer.am, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the planned projects during the cabinet meeting. Khudatyan said that, with this decision included, the total volume of co-financed subsidy programs under the 2026 state budget will reach AMD 12.011 billion.
Pashinyan welcomed the expansion of the subsidy schemes, saying their impact is already visible in communities. He noted that in some localities the first stage of works has effectively been completed, making it necessary to move on to the next phases.
The prime minister also said such spending helps attract private investment, especially in tourism. In his view, in villages that have gone without roads for decades, even news that a government project has been commissioned or that a tender winner has been selected is enough to prompt residents to start building guesthouses and launching other private initiatives.
That, Pashinyan said, creates an indirect but effective model of public-private cooperation.
