At its September 11 meeting, the Armenian government approved AMD 1.09 billion for the repair and construction of roads leading to schools across the republic.
According to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan, the funding will be used to upgrade 9.8 km of roads in total. Of that, 9.6 km will undergo capital repairs, while a 200-meter section will receive medium-level repair works.
The regional administrations are the contracting authorities for the project. Most of the work will be carried out through them, while the remaining part will be handled by the Road Department Foundation.
Overall, the program covers the modernization of 61 roads with a combined length of 99.1 km. Work has already started on most of the roads and is scheduled to be completed in October-November this year.
