Armenia cannot indefinitely postpone a decision between pursuing accession to the European Union and maintaining its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, Karapetyan said.
In his view, those two vectors could eventually force Armenia into a clear political and economic choice. He said the issue cannot remain unresolved forever.
Karapetyan made the remarks in a comment published on September 11. The report says the issue concerns Armenia’s foreign economic and integration priorities.
The debate is also important for business and the investment climate, as Armenia’s next steps could affect the structure of the country’s economic ties and its access to markets.
