EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas has announced that this autumn she will present the "most comprehensive" package of sanctions against Russia to EU countries:
"In the autumn, I will present the most comprehensive list of sanctions since the beginning of the war. If accepted, the number of individuals, companies, and organizations under sanctions will immediately increase by one third," Kallas stated:
She also expressed hope that the positions of the EU and the US regarding sanctions against Russia would align, referencing the recent passage of a relevant bill by the late Senator Lindsey Graham in the US Senate:
The EU adopted its latest, 21st package of sanctions against Russia in July. Following the implementation of the new sanctions package, the EU's blacklist against Russia has expanded to include 3100 individuals and organizations, marking the highest figure in the history of EU sanctions practice:
