YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. The Bizum consortium, which includes over 30 Spanish banks, has launched the Bizum Pay service for making purchases directly via mobile phone.
The app became available for download in July, as Spanish banks aim to reduce their dependence on American Visa and Mastercard, according to Frank Media citing Reuters.
Spain is not the first in Europe to develop its own payment infrastructure. For example, Poland is working on the Blik system, Sweden on Swish, and Brussels on Wero, which plans to launch payments across Europe next year.
