Iran and Oman have agreed on the geographical coordinates of the maritime route passing through the Hormuz Strait. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei, adding that a joint statement on this matter is in the finalization phase, provided that third parties do not interfere.
According to him, such an agreement between Iran and Oman does not itself guarantee security in the strategically important Hormuz Strait.
Earlier today, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant stated that as a result of negotiations regarding the resumption of navigation in the Hormuz Strait, the U.S. and Iran are close to concluding an agreement, hoping that it will take place today or tomorrow.
