Elon Musk has announced the project for the future Terafab chip manufacturing plant planned in Texas.
“Terafab Texas will become the largest and most expensive building on Earth,” he wrote on X, sharing a related video.
According to data published on SpaceX's website, the plant will cover approximately 9.3 million square meters. The publication states that Terafab will be the largest chip manufacturing plant in the world.
The produced microchips are intended to be used in Optimus humanoid robots, Cybercab robotaxis, as well as in SpaceX’s space data processing centers.
Musk officially announced the launch of the Terafab microchip production project on March 22. He noted that Terafab is a joint project of his companies Tesla, xAI, and SpaceX.
