The event gathered more than 600 runners

For the second consecutive year, the central square of Vanadzor transformed into a major sports platform: the 'VMH Vanadzor Half Marathon 2026' gathered over 600 runners from various regions of Armenia and abroad.

This year, the main sponsors of the half marathon are Idram and IDBank, who support the event under the initiative 'The Power of One Dram'. The funds raised from the half marathon will be directed to the 'Vahe Meliksetyan' foundation to support the development of clinical pharmacology in Armenia.

The half marathon was kicked off with a race for young runners who completed a distance of 1 km. In Vanadzor, young runners were also joined by Junior to inspire the children and become part of their first major victories. At the end of the competition, the young winners received special prizes from Idram Junior.

After the children, it was the adults' turn: they tested their strength in the 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km distances. In a tense battle under the scorching sun, the best participants were awarded cash prizes in the form of idcoins from Idram and IDBank.

According to Tatevik Vardevanyan, head of the Communications and Social Responsibility Programs at IDBank and Idram, education and community support hold significant importance in the social responsibility directions of Idram and IDBank.

“By joining this marathon, Idram and IDBank combine three directions at once: promoting a healthy lifestyle, supporting community development, and education. All proceeds from the marathon will be allocated to the development of clinical pharmacology and providing scholarships to future specialists,” noted Tatevik Vardevanyan.

Sarkis Meliksetyan, executive director of the 'Vahe Meliksetyan' foundation, highly appreciated the cooperation with the companies.
“I believe that we are carrying out very important activities with Idram and IDBank, the impact of which on our city we will surely see in the years to come,” said Sarkis Meliksetyan.

IDBank and Idram are regulated by the Central Bank of Armenia.
