For the second consecutive year, the central square of Vanadzor transformed into a major sports platform for the 'VMH Vanadzor Half Marathon 2026', gathering over 600 runners from various regions of Armenia and abroad.
This year, the main sponsors of the half marathon are Idram and IDBank, which support the event under the initiative 'The Power of One Dram'. The funds raised from the half marathon will be directed to the 'Vahe Meliksetyan' foundation to support the development of clinical pharmacy in Armenia.
The half marathon kicked off with children's races, where young runners completed a 1 km distance. Junior also joined the young runners in Vanadzor to inspire them and become part of their first major victories. At the end of the competition, the young winners received special prizes from Idram Junior.
After the children, it was the adults' turn, who tested their strength in the 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km distances. In the intense competition under the scorching sun, the best participants received cash prizes in the form of idcoins from Idram and IDBank.
According to Tatevik Vardevanyan, head of communications and social responsibility programs at IDBank and Idram, education and community support are very important areas of the companies' social responsibility.
“By joining this marathon, Idram and IDBank combine three directions at once: promoting a healthy lifestyle, supporting community development, and education. All proceeds from the marathon will be allocated to the development of clinical pharmacy and providing scholarships to future specialists,” noted Tatevik Vardevanyan.
Executive Director of the 'Vahe Meliksetyan' foundation, Sarkis Meliksetyan, highly appreciated the cooperation with the companies.
“I believe that with Idram and IDBank we are carrying out very important activities, the impact of which on our city we will see years later,” said Sarkis Meliksetyan.
