IDBank has launched a new partnership project under its “Side by Side” initiative to support families forcibly displaced from Artsakh and now living in the Sevan community, according to the bank’s press service.
The bank and the Dekavva charitable foundation have joined efforts to promote the social and economic integration of these families and create practical opportunities for education and employment.
Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of Communications and Sustainability at IDBank, said the new phase of the program will work with every member of each family, from children to adults. She said the goal is to help families address both social issues and challenges related to integration into the local community, while delivering tangible and lasting results.
Vardevanyan also said the Harehas project could make a meaningful contribution to the future of compatriots displaced from Artsakh.
Adriana Marutyan, co-founder and executive director of the Dekavva Fund charitable foundation, said the program will take into account the needs and problems of every family and will be implemented on an individual basis.
According to her, because Harehas is community-oriented, displaced people from Artsakh will be able to create and develop new initiatives in every settlement where they have resettled, whether through projects, their own businesses or other undertakings. “We see their enormous potential every day and seek to help it grow,” Marutyan said.
Since 2023, IDBank has been providing ongoing support to families forcibly displaced from Artsakh through its “Side by Side” program, with a particular focus on integration and helping them rebuild their lives and future in Armenia. The bank recently also covered tuition fees for 103 students from Artsakh at Yerevan State University.
Vardevanyan said that while the bank’s support was initially mostly social in nature and aimed at covering essential day-to-day expenses, it later shifted its focus to education, vocational training and helping people acquire new professions. That, she said, should help beneficiaries secure stable jobs and later handle their social issues independently.
In the near future, the bank will also hold financial literacy courses in these communities to help families gain the knowledge needed to make balanced and informed financial decisions.
IDBank is regulated by the Central Bank of Armenia.
