IDBank and Dekavva Foundation launch new support phase for Artsakh families

The initiative in Sevan is aimed at the socio-economic integration of forcibly displaced families.

IDBank has started a new partnership with the Dekavva charitable foundation under its “Side by Side” program, this time targeting support for families forcibly displaced from Artsakh and now living in the Sevan community.

According to the parties, the initiative is designed to support the families’ socio-economic integration and create practical opportunities for access to education and the labor market. The new phase of the program will involve work with every family member, from children to adults.

Tatevik Vardevanyan, Head of Communications and Sustainable Development at IDBank, said the program is expected to deliver tangible results so that families can address both social issues and the challenges of integrating into the community more quickly. In her view, the work carried out under the “Harehas” program could have a meaningful impact on the future of their compatriots from Artsakh.

Adriana Marutyan, co-founder and executive director of the Dekavva charitable foundation, said each family’s needs and problems will be assessed separately, with support provided on an individual basis. She added that because Harehas is a community-based program, new projects, businesses and other initiatives could emerge in communities where Artsakh families live.

IDBank noted that since 2023, under the “Side by Side” program, it has regularly supported families forcibly displaced from Artsakh, emphasizing their integration and the goal of helping them rebuild their lives and future in Armenia. More recently, the bank also financed tuition fees for 103 Artsakh students at Yerevan State University.

Vardevanyan said that while the bank’s support was initially focused on social assistance and covering basic living expenses, it later shifted toward education, training and helping people gain new professions. The bank believes this can support long-term employment and help families address social problems independently.

IDBank also plans to hold financial literacy training sessions in communities in the near future to help families acquire the knowledge needed to make sound financial decisions.
