The Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has reaffirmed Iran's conditions for reopening the Hormuz Strait, stating that the strategic waterway will not reopen until the United States lifts its blockade, sanctions, and frozen assets of the Islamic Republic. This was reported by the news agency "Irna".
Speaking at an online session of parliament today, Ghalibaf addressed several internal and regional issues, particularly the non-implementation of the memorandum of understanding with Islamabad (MoU), which was personally signed by President Donald Trump.
Paying tribute to the martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ghalibaf noted that Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's 48 years of leadership has prepared the Iranian people and armed forces to stand united and steadfast against the aggression of the regimes of the United States and Israel.
Declaring that the whole world has recognized Iran's sovereign and independent victory over the American-Israeli enemy, the senior parliamentary member condemned the regimes of Washington and Tel Aviv for their delusion in attempting to overthrow the sacred system of the Islamic Republic.
Ghalibaf also pointed out Trump's refusal to adhere to the memorandum of understanding signed with Tehran through Pakistan, stating that the U.S. failure to implement the document was out of desperation, but in practice, it was a significant diplomatic defeat for Washington.
He noted that Iran's armed forces continue to closely consult with the country's diplomatic apparatus and have given practical and crushing responses, showing the enemy that the Iranian nation, with unity, courage, and wisdom, will not waver in demanding its rights.
