Armenia's public debt stands at $13.9 billion

As of the end of June 2026, Armenia's public debt increased by $48.8 million

According to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia, as of June 30, 2026, the public debt of Armenia amounted to 5,116,377.2 million drams. Compared to the same period in 2025, the public debt decreased by 207.3 million drams or 3.9%.

In particular, the government debt of Armenia amounted to 5,113,295.6 million drams, of which the external debt was 2,436,924.9 million drams. External loans and borrowings amounted to 1,602,300.6, while the state treasury bonds acquired by non-residents amounted to 303,789.1 million drams, and the foreign currency state bonds acquired by non-residents amounted to 530,835.2 million drams.

Regarding the internal debt, it amounted to 2,676,370.7 million drams, of which the treasury bonds acquired by residents amounted to 2,471,085.8 million drams, and the foreign currency treasury bonds acquired by residents amounted to 205,284.8 million drams.

The debt of Armenian municipalities amounted to 3,081.6 million drams, of which the external debt was 2,930.3 million drams, and the internal debt was 151.4 million drams.

If we express the public debt in US dollars, considering the exchange rate of the dollar as of June 30, 2026, which is 368.06 drams, then on June 30, 2026, the public debt of Armenia amounted to 13.9 billion US dollars. This includes an external debt of 6.62 billion US dollars and an internal debt of 7.27 billion US dollars. Compared to the figure of 13.85 billion dollars at the end of June 2025, the public debt has increased by 0.35% or 48.8 million dollars.
