The November 22 event at DigiTec will be held jointly with the Central Bank of Armenia.

Armenian Dram Day will be marked this year during DigiTec 2026 with a major fintech conference. The announcement was made at a press conference by Edita Kazaryan, executive director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE).

According to Kazaryan, a large fintech conference dedicated to the dram will be held on November 22 together with the Central Bank of Armenia as part of the DigiTec program. DigiTec 2026 will take place in Yerevan on November 20–22, with the final day of the exhibition coinciding with the 33rd anniversary of the introduction of Armenia’s national currency.

About Armenian Dram Day

The national currency of the Republic of Armenia, the dram, was introduced on November 22, 1993. The first banknotes put into circulation had denominations of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 500 drams. Soviet rubles were exchanged at a rate of 200 rubles for 1 dram.

The monetary system was later modernized several times. The second series of Armenian banknotes began to be issued in 1998, while the third series was unveiled in 2018 to mark the 25th anniversary of the national currency. The exclusive right to issue the national currency belongs to the Central Bank of Armenia.
