Armenian producers are exporting a surplus of their products in large quantities to Georgia, which has led to a decrease in prices, unequal competition, and created problems for local entrepreneurs. This was reported to BMG by the head of the Association of Floriculturists, Rusiko Mikavan.
According to her, some of the flowers are imported into Georgia without the importer's labeling and in violation of established standards, while local distributors are unable to compete with the large batches offered at low prices.
From January to July, Georgia imported flowers worth $3.3 million from Armenia, which exceeds the comparable figure for 2025 by 53.7%.
