The government has made amendments and changes to the VAT refund procedure for foreign citizens purchasing goods in Armenia.
According to the justification, the VAT refund is possible if the value of purchases made within one calendar day exceeds the established minimum threshold (50,000 dram). It is noted that the minimum threshold for the value of purchases made within one calendar day is being reviewed.
In the future, it is also planned to discuss the removal of restrictions on VAT refunds for foreign citizens leaving Armenia by land transport, which can be carried out no more than twice a year, as well as the limit on the total amount of refundable VAT of 350,000 dram, if actual data indicates that such restrictions are no longer necessary.
