YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. The internal trade turnover in Armenia in January-June 2026 amounted to 3,155,866.0 million drams, an increase of 0.9% compared to the same period in 2025.
In June 2026, this figure reached 585.9 billion drams. Compared to June 2025, trade turnover decreased by 0.1%, while it increased by 6.3% compared to May of the current year.
In the overall volume, the wholesale trade turnover for the first half of the year amounted to 2.01 trillion drams, or 63.8% of the total figure. Compared to January-June of last year, it decreased by 2.2%. The retail trade turnover reached 1.01 trillion drams, or 32.1%, increasing by 7.1%, while the turnover of car trade amounted to 129.4 billion drams, or 4.1%, with a growth of 6.6%.
Retail demand supports trade amid wholesale segment decline
The structure of indicators indicates a noticeable discrepancy between the dynamics of the wholesale and retail segments. While the overall growth of internal trade was only 0.9%, retail turnover increased by 7.1%, whereas wholesale trade, which accounts for almost two-thirds of the total turnover, decreased by 2.2%.
