Five Dairy Producers in Armenia Fined 16.5 Million Drams

Five companies acknowledged the violations

YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. The Commission for the Protection of Competition and Consumer Interests of Armenia has fined five dairy producers a total of approximately 16.5 million drams for identified violations:

According to the commission, as part of a large-scale investigation, proceedings were initiated against 11 dairy producers on the grounds of possible violations affecting consumer interests:

Five companies — 'Motkor Food', 'Echmiadzin Kat', 'Khin Aparan+', 'Ar-Tar', and 'Main Cheese Factory of Amasia' — acknowledged the identified violations. An expedited procedure was applied to them, resulting in fines totaling about 16.5 million drams:

Laboratory research data showed that in several types of products from these companies, the mass fraction of milk fat was 5.4%, 15%, and 25.5%, 18%, 1%, and 0.9%, while the corresponding technical regulation of the Customs Union requires a minimum of 50%:

This concerns, in particular, dairy products with a milk fat substitute, produced using the 'Chanakh' cheese technology and sour cream, marketed under the names and trademarks 'Motkor', 'Amasia', 'Tasty Cheese', 'AT-ARAT', 'EJMIATSIN Kat', and 'Khin Aparan':

Six more proceedings against other companies are currently under review.
