The head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Eduard Akopyan, received representatives of the World Bank's technical mission, which provides advisory and analytical services under the "Crossroads of the World" initiative.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of ongoing programs, particularly projects for the digitalization of the customs system, simplification and modernization of processes, and the application of artificial intelligence tools in the activities of customs authorities.
They also addressed issues related to the start of the second phase of technical support provided by the World Bank under the "Crossroads of the World" initiative and the scope of support for developing the TRIPP business model.
Akopyan emphasized the key role of the World Bank, noting the importance of continuing and further expanding long-term cooperation with the organization.
It is worth mentioning that in late October 2023, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the "Crossroads of the World" project for the first time at an international forum in Tbilisi, which is essentially Armenia's version of the project to unblock communications in the region following the 44-day war in Artsakh.
