In Armenia, the service sector accelerated its annual growth rate from 9.8% to 11% in the first half of 2026, reaching a volume of 2.1 trillion drams ($5.7 billion).
According to the data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, the volume of services provided increased by 5.7% in June alone, amounting to 415 billion drams ($1.1 million). The acceleration in growth rates was primarily driven by the sustained dynamics of the leading sectors of information and communication and the financial sector, as well as the recovery of the transport services sector.
Specifically, the information and communication sector slowed its annual growth from 19% to 12.9%, the financial sector from 16.5% to 8.4%, and real estate transactions from 12.6% to 11.3%.
Growth was particularly noted in the food service sector, which rose from 4.4% to 11.4%, and in culture and entertainment, which increased from 2.3% to 5.7%.
The financial sector remains the leader in the volume of services provided, accounting for 32.3% or 693.1 billion drams, of which 490.2 billion drams are provided by banks.
