Armenian Health Minister Anait Avanesyan announced at a press conference on June 30 that the number of beneficiaries of the healthcare insurance system has increased to 1.7 million this year.
The growth is attributed to an increase in the number of residents and workers earning over 200,000 drams.
Additionally, due to legislative changes, individual entrepreneurs have been included in the insurance system ahead of schedule.
From 2027, new groups of citizens will join the system, including those working under civil contracts.
By January 1, 2028, the healthcare insurance system is expected to cover the entire population of Armenia.
