In Armenia, a positive migration balance of 5,200 people was recorded in the first half of 2026. According to the data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia, this figure decreased by 21.2% compared to the previous year. During the reporting period, 2.3 million citizens entered Armenia from abroad, which is 4.3% higher than the previous year's figure. During the same period, 2.2 million citizens left Armenia, with a year-on-year increase of 2.3%.
As a result, a positive balance of border crossings (the balance of entries and exits) was recorded at 59,299 people, with a year-on-year increase of more than three times. In the first half of 2026, 871,400 citizens of Armenia entered the country (a year-on-year decrease of 7.2%), while 870,100 left (a year-on-year decrease of 9.3%). Thus, the positive balance of border crossings for Armenian citizens during the reporting period was 1,346 people, compared to a negative balance of -20,059 people during the same period last year.
During the reporting period, 34,100 people were registered, with a year-on-year increase of 5.1%, while 28,700 people were deregistered, with a year-on-year increase of 17.4%. For tourism purposes, more than 1 million tourists visited Armenia in the first half of 2026, which is 14.8% higher than the previous year's figure.
