In Armenia, 14,281 children were born in the first half of 2026, which is 1.9% lower than the figure from the previous year. The birth rate per 1,000 residents was 9.3 per mille, down from 9.5 per mille a year earlier. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
During the reporting period, 12,476 people died in Armenia, a decrease of 4.7% compared to the previous year. The mortality rate in the country dropped to 8.1 per mille (from 8.6 per mille in the same period of 2025). Thus, the absolute figure for natural population growth was 1,805 people, which is an increase of 22.5% year-on-year.
Specifically, the natural population growth rate for the first half of 2026 was 1.2 per mille (compared to 0.9 per mille a year ago).
