On September 24 in New York, Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
According to the official readout, the ministers exchanged views on developments in the South Caucasus and the Middle East. They stressed the importance of peace and said that a stable environment would allow the sides to make fuller use of opportunities created by interregional connectivity.
The meeting also noted with satisfaction the growing momentum in trade turnover between Armenia and Iraq. Against that backdrop, the sides agreed to keep promoting exports of Armenian goods to Iraq, including agricultural products.
Mirzoyan and Hussein also underscored the importance of cooperation on agenda issues in multilateral formats.
