Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan met Montenegro’s Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić in Yerevan on September 22 on the sidelines of the International Medical Tourism Forum.

The talks focused on expanding tourism cooperation between Armenia and Montenegro. The sides discussed ways to increase bilateral tourist flows and develop new destinations.

Papoyan said Armenia has continued taking steps to boost international passenger transportation and improve the country’s accessibility. He added that investments are also being directed toward tourism infrastructure.

Rural tourism was another area highlighted during the meeting, with both sides viewing it as a promising field for cooperation. In that context, the minister stressed the importance of studying Montenegro’s experience and exchanging expertise.

The officials also reviewed a broader range of issues of mutual interest, including prospects for deepening cooperation further and creating new opportunities.

Anushik Avetyan, chair of the Tourism Committee of Armenia’s Economy Ministry, also attended the meeting.
