The two countries’ ministers discussed increasing tourist flows and cooperation in agritourism.

Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan met with Montenegro’s Tourism Minister Simonida Kordic to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism. According to Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, the sides reviewed ways to increase mutual tourist flows and develop new areas of cooperation.

Agritourism was identified as one of the promising tracks. In that context, Papoyan stressed the importance of studying Montenegro’s experience and exchanging best practices.

The ministers also discussed other issues of mutual interest, including prospects for broadening cooperation and creating new opportunities in the sector.

Papoyan said Armenia is continuing efforts to boost international passenger transportation and improve the country’s accessibility. At the same time, he said, investments are being made in tourism infrastructure.

Data from the Statistical Committee show that 99 tourists from Montenegro visited Armenia in January-June 2026, down 29.3% from a year earlier.
